"Mr. Chairman, the Director did not ex-
plain the first item in the project investiga-
tive studies - Rio Grande Salvage, $6,000, on
page 9. That is a request made to the state
by the two conservancy districts in the San Luis
Valley for what will be one-fourth of the ex-
pense of further investigation of salvage
possibilities in that area. The Bureau will
put up $12,000 and the local districts will
put up $6,000 and we requested the state to
match the part which the local districts have
committed themselves for."

"I purposely omitted that because I felt
that the explanation should come from the San
Luis Valley."

If not, I'll entertain a motion that it be
approved."

The next item on the agenda is the report
from the federal agencies and I might say that
we have missed these reports lately, largely
because we had transmission system problems
to discuss. I'd like to first call on Joe
Barrett for Region 7 to give his report. If
you will please, Joe."

report for the activities of the Denver Devel-
opment Office so I am not going to take the
time to read that. There are two or three com-
ments on some items that I should make.
