The next meeting of the Drought Task Force is scheduled for August 18 in
-Boulder. As of June I this is the Colorado Water Supply Outlook:

Snowoack: Most of the state shows two to three times the snowpack oflast year at this
time. Colorado's statewide snowpack increased this month to 105% of average. Only the Rio
Grande and the combined San Juan, Animas, Dolores, and San Miguel basins decreased in
percent of average snowpack. These basins remain as the only basins in the state reporting a
significantly below average snowpack.

Precipitation: Precipitation totals were generally above average across most of Colorado
during May. The Rio Grande Basin reported more than twice the average for the month. The
Gunnison Basin exceeded its average by 60 percent, while the San Juan, Animas, Dolores, arid
San Miguel basins exceeded their monthly average by 34 percent. An average of the 39 National
Weather Service stations shows the statewide precipitation was ISO percent of average for May.
Only the Yampa and White basins are now reporting a below average water year total.
Colorado's highest basinwide water year accumulations are reported in the South Platte Basin at
162 percent of average.

Reservoir Storage: As Colorado enters the irrigation season, the state's reservoirs are
storing generally above average volumes in all basins, ranging from 108 percent of average in
the San Juan, Animas, Dolores, and San Miguel basins, to 282 percent of average in the
Arkansas Basin. Statewide, reservoir storage is 136 percent of average for this date, exceeding
the average by more than 1.2 million acre-feet. Because of recent flood events in the Arkansas

7
