Box 20,000 Grand Junction, CO 81502 Re: BOSLEY WASH Dear Commissioners, e The Grand Junction Drainage District is definitely aware of surface runoff problems in the basin known as BOSLEY WASH. The District does maintain some of the channel. Those reaches that are Nithin our Discrict boundaries are all below 1 -70. A considerable portion of the basin extends from 1-70 northerly to the top of the Bookcliffs just on the west side of Mt. Garfield, all within Mesa County. There are some residents within the Drainage District in the Bosley Wash basin who have experienced multiple water/mud flO'.~ damage since ,July 24, 1999. The District participated in the September 28, 1999 meeting of citizens, local, State, and Federal officials wherein it was suggested that an agency request monies from the Colorado Water Conservation Board for a basin study which would result in a master drainage plan for the basin_ The Drainage District is willing to contribute $5,000.00 cash and another $2,500.00 in kind services from GJDD staff in calendar year 2000 toward a master drainage basin plan for Bosley Wash. It is believed that such a coordinated, total basin plan is the best way to evaluate or prioritize any drainage improvements within the basin. The Grand Junction Drainage District supports a dual application by the Mesa County and the Drainage District to the Colorado Water Conservation Board for funding of the master drainage plan.
