<br />Agenda Item 6d <br />Case No. 2-98CW137; City of Aurora & Lake County Commissioners <br /> <br />Aoolication Summary <br /> <br />This is an application for a change of water right for several senior irrigation water rights located <br />in Lake and Chaffee Counties (see attached map). Applicants seek to change the decreed use of <br />the senior irrigation water rights from direct flow to direct flow and storage and from irrigation to <br />all other beneficial uses. Applicants are also requesting alternate points of diversion for all of the <br />senior irrigation rights to almost anywhere in Lake County, to change the time of use from the . <br />irrigation season to year-round uses. Applicants are also requesting the right to continue the <br />historical irrigation }lractice in some years. <br /> <br />CWCB Aporooriations <br /> <br />The Board holds instream flow appropriations on Lake Creek, Big Union Creek, Glacier Creek, <br />West Tennessee Creek, Halfinoon Creek, East Fork Arkansas River, Lake Fork Creek, Echo Creek, <br />East Tennessee Creek, Black Cloud Creek, North Fork West Tennessee Creek, Busk Creek, <br />Tennessee Creek, Twobit Gulch, Low Pass Gulch aDd Longs Gulch. <br /> <br />Potential for Iniury <br /> <br />Applicants request to change the point of diversion, place of use, type of use and time and season of <br />use may result in an expansion of use, In addition, Applicants request to store water in certain <br />reservoirs (by exchange?) could injure the Board's water rights. <br /> <br />Other Obiectors <br /> <br />Other objectors include the Eagle Sky Foundation, Southeastern Colorado Water Conservancy <br />District, the Fort Lyon Canal Company, the Upper Arkansas Water Conservancy District, Lake <br />Fork Ranch Company, St Charles Mesa Water District, the Holbrook Mutual Irrigating Company, <br />the City ofSalida, Dennis O'Neill, East Twin Lakes Ditches and Water Works, Arkansas Valley <br />Ditch Association, Public Service Company of Colorado, the US Forest Service, the Colorado State <br />Engineer's Office and Mount Massive Lakes, Inc. <br /> <br />L:\BOARDMEMlMan:h 99lagenda item 6d.doc <br />
