As far as the "how" of our environmental baseline program, we have .
involved some very well known consultants to help us, similar to Chuck's
position. We have tried to work through consultants and to hire the
expertise we require in these areas of the environmental parameters.
We have retained V.T.N. out of Denver as our prime managing contractor.
They are, in my opinion, doing us a very fine job.

We have today drilled approximately thirty-four ground water wells, with I
the hopes and expectations of getting a firm idea as to what the ground
water system looks like from a quality, quantity point of view, as well
as a picture of what is going on in our tract areas, as far as ground
water is concerned. We have established fourteen surface water quality
monitoring stations, four of them on the White River, and three on
Evacuation Creek, which is the only flowing creek through our tract
areas, and then the others are placed on streams that flow only during
times of storm runoff.

As far as our historic and scientific approach goes, we have retained
several university groups to help in paleontology and archaeology.
Through slides, I will show you something of the activities that we have
been involved in, and what we have done to date. This program turned out
to be about an eight-month program.

As far as some of the very, very preliminary conclusions we can draw,
as far as ground water is concerned, we, from the beginning, knew that
our ground water situation was different than in Colorado. To date,
our preliminary findings have proved that out. The wells that we have
drilled and where we have developed water, have shown a water quality
to be not satisfactory, from our point of view, for immediate use. We
are talking about water that is generally above 3,500 parts per million
in total dissolved solids. As far as flows, they have been low. Some
wells have been completely dry. Other wells that have produced water
have been less than one hundred gallons per minute. Our preliminary
conclusion is that the ground water that is available in our tract area
will not be either suitable or in sufficient quantity to meet a signifi-
cant water need in our project activities. Surface water, we are
monitoring on those four locations, as I mentioned. The data and informa-
tion on river flows and so on is quite well known.

We are doing monthly sampling for chemical quality and analysis. We
are also into some quarterly and semi-annual sampling which sqows us
looking at about seventy-four quality parameters in the White River.
This is quite an extensive amount, and we certainly believe this will
characterize very closely the type of water that we will be using out
of the White River.

I

At this time, then, I would like to move into the slide presentation.
The slides are set up in such a way as they will give an overview of the
tract areas. First, then, we will move into some of the actual physical
facilities which we have constructed on the site and some that I have
talked a little about in my opening remarks. Then at the end, I would
like to sum up a little bit and be open for questions.

-54-
