with a surface area of 1,247 acres and a water depth of 233 feet. The
top of the blue line represents the inactive pool of 372 acres and a water
depth of ll6 feet. The maximum draw down would be 132 feet.

These are some of the lands near Colona that would receive supplemental
irrigation water from Ridgway Reservoir. This water would be released to I
the river from the reservoir and rediverted through existing systems to
these fields. In the valley area aLove and below Ridgway Reservoir,
2,850 acres would receive an increased water supply.

This chart shows the distribution of the project irrigation water.

180 af for the Colona area
7,230 af for Log Hill Mesa
1,390 af for the Ridgway area.

All of the 7,350 project irrigable lands are held in 117 ownerships which
vary in size from one to 327 acres. All of the ownerships are privately
held.

This is the area which would be supplied with municipal and industrial
water. This chart shows the municipal and industrial water use areas:
3,500 af in the Ridgway area, 4,500 af on Log Hill Mesa, 26,000 af at
or immediately below Ridgway Reservoir, including 24,000 for industrial
use, and 23,000 af below the Montrose and Delta Canal for use in the
Montrose-Delta areas.

Municipal use would amount to 27,500 af of water in the 500 square miles
to be ser\Ted by the project. This, added to the current supply, is
expected to satisfy the needs of a projected population of 100,000 in
the year 2000. The industrial share of the developed water would amount
to a total of 29,500 acre-feet, with 24,000 of that going to energy
production and 5,500 going for use in small industries.

'fhis map shows the general location of the Kemmerer Coal Company leases
on Cimarron Ridge and their proximity to Colona on the Uncompahgre River.
Kemmerer proposes to develop this ctal field for the production of an
energy pr.ckage.

The reservoirs of the Dallas Creek project would afford excellent recre-
ation opportunities. These people are picnicking at Blue Mesa Reservoir
on the Gunnison River. Scenes like this could become familiar at both
Dallas Divide and Ridgway Reservoirs. Recreational facilities would be
provided at both Ridgway and Dallas Divide Reservoirs, and.a dead and I
inactive pool specifically for recreation would be provided for fish,
recreation, and to obtain a more favorable alignment for the Log Hill
Mesa conduit. Boating such as this on Blue Mesa could also apply to
Ridgway Reservoir.

The National Park Service has recommended that the Colorado Division of
Parks and Outdoor Recreation administer the recreation facilities at
both reservoirs, and the state has indicated a willingness to do 80 and
to pay the annual costs for operation of the facilities.
