CWCB Progress on Colorado's
Map Modernization Implementation Plan
As of July 15, 2002

· Contracted with consulting firm to assist with MMIP
tasks, after receiving $50,000 grant from FEMA

· Developed questionnaire and Community Worksheet to
acquire community information_about floodplain maps

· Held four regional workshops (Greele~ Pueblo, Parker,
Glenwood Springs) to reach out to communities and
assist them in filling out the questionnaire and the
Community Worksheet

· Hosted 83 communities (out of 332 counties, cities, and
towns in Colorado) at the four workshops

· Received responses from an additional 35 communities
(total of 118 out of 332 so far)

· In that process received responses from 42 out of 71
"high priority" communities (as defined by staff)

· Made fOllow-up contact with all 29 remaining "high
priority" communities as well as 13 other communities
