<br />FPR 201 <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />823 State Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />August 16, 1982 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a report entitled "Flood Insurance Study, Town of <br />Lyons, Colorado, Boulder County," which includes floodplain <br />information and data for North Saint Vrain Creek, South Saint <br />Vrain Creek, and Saint vrain Creek, dated February, 1980, has <br />bee n prepared by f1owar-i, Needles, Tammen & Bergendof f unde r <br />contract with the Federal Insurance Administrati0n; and <br /> <br />WflEREAS, sad Ce!)oct describes ann outlines the flood:olain <br />data and information for the st,)t:''C) and floodwater runoff channels <br />or basins of the study area; and <br /> <br />WflEREAS, the Town of Lyons has requeste!l the Colorado \-Iater <br />Conservatio'! Boar<'i to designate and approve the floodplain areas <br />as set forth in the aforesaid report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />1973, requir'~s <br />the prevent ion <br /> <br />Section 37-6Q-l06( 1), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />the Colorado Wate, Conservation Board to assist in <br />of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-301 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised <br />Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or <br />along any stor'1l or floodwater runo(f channel or basin only after <br />designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973, <1 i rects the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate <br />and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to <br />make such designations available to legislative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said report and <br />does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water Conservation Board <br />that the Boar1 designate and approve as floodplain areas those <br />areas inundated by a 100-year flood (intermediate regional flood) <br />as described by the floodwater surface elevations and profiles in <br />said report; <br />
