<br />FPR 199 <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />823 State Cent~nnial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />August 16, 1982 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a report enti tIed "Flood Insurance Study, Mof fat <br />County, Colorado, Unincorpor:ited ll,reas," which includes <br />floodplain information and data for the Yamoa River, <br />Fortification Creek, Sand Gulch Tributarv, Brotherton Gulch, <br />Cedar 'lountain Gulch, pine Rdne Gulc'1, Lay 'Creek, Big Gulch, and <br />other unnamed streams, dated August 3, 1982, has been prepared by <br />;1S~~ Consultants, Inc., imder contract with the Federal Insurance <br />ll,dministration; and <br /> <br />\'lHEREAS, sai,1 report Jesc'cibes and outlines the floodplain <br />data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels <br />or basins of the study area; and <br /> <br />WH8REAS, ;10ftat County has requested 'the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board to designOlte and approve the floodplain areas <br />as set forth in the aforesaid report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />1973, requires <br />the prevent ion <br /> <br />Section 37-60-106( 1), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />the Colorado Water Conservatior'l Board to assist in <br />of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-301 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revise<l <br />Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of local <br />juris<lictions may provide zoninq regulations for land uses on or <br />along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after <br />designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate <br />and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to <br />make such design:ltions available to legislative bo<lies of local <br />jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />\mEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said report and <br /><loes l1ereby recommend to the COlorado Water Conservation Board <br />that the Board designate and approve as floodplain Olreas those <br />areas inundated by a lOa-year flood (intermediate regional flood) <br />as <lescribed by the floodwater surface elevations and profiles in <br />said report; <br />
