<br />FPR 196 <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />823 State Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />August 16, 1982 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a report entitled "Flood Insurance Study, Town of <br />Gypsum, Colorado, Bagle County," which includes floodplain <br />information and data for Gypsum Creek and the Eagle River, dated <br />March 16, 1981, has been prepared by Gingery Associates, Inc., <br />under contract with the Federal Insurance Administration; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, sain report describes and outlines the floodplain <br />data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels <br />or basins within the current corporate limits of the Town of <br />Gypsum: and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, t~e Town of Gypsum has requested the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board to designate and approve the floodplain areas <br />as set forth in the aforesaid report for Gypsum Creek only; and <br /> <br />\~HEREAS , <br />1973, requires <br />the prevent ion <br /> <br />Section 37-60-106( 1), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />the Colorado Wate~ Conservation Board to assist in <br />of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHSREAS, Sections 31-23-301 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised <br />Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions may provide zoning regUlations for land uses on or <br />along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after <br />designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106 ( 1 ) (c), Colorado Rev ised Statutes <br />1973, directs the Colorado Water Conservat ion Board to des iqnate <br />and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to <br />make such designations available to legislative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said report and <br />does hereby recommend to the COlorado Water Conservation Board <br />that the Board designate and approve as flOOdplain areas those <br />areas inundated by a 100-year flood (intermediate regional flood) <br />as described by the floodwater surface elevations and profiles in <br />said report for Sypsum Creek only; <br />
