WHEREAS, a t'eport entitle~ "Flood Insurance Stu~y, Town of
Olathe, Montrose County, Colorado," which includes floonplain
infocllation and data for the Uncompahgre River, dated March 16,
19SJ1, has been pre?ared by :>IS"! Cons'lltants, Inc., iln~er contract
wit'1 the Federal Emergency ~4anaqp.m'~nt ,lI,qency; and

WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floodplain
,'lata an0 information for the st:)t':11 and floonwater runoff channels
or basins of the stuny area; and

i'lHEREAS, the Town of Olathe has requested the Colorado Water
Conservation Boarn to desiqnate an~ apProve the floodplain areas
as set forth in the aforesaid report; and

Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes
the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in

WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-301 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised
Statutes 1973, provide that sl\ch legislative bo<iies of local
jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or
along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after
designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation
Board; and

WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes
1973, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate
and aoorove storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to
make 's'uch designations available to legislative bodies of local
jurisdictions; ann

WHEREAS, the staff of the Floard has reviewed saB report and
does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water Conservation Board
that the Board designate and aoprove as floodplain areas those
areas inundated by a 100-year flood (intermediate regional flood)
as ,'lescribed by the floodwater Surface elevations and profiles in
said report;
