The reservoir
is located in the Town of Windsor, about 45 miles north of Denver, and receives water from the
Cache La Poudre River. The reservoir has been in use for approximately 100 years, during which
time it has become silted in to a capacity of 1,100 acre-feet. The Company wants to dredge out
the reservoir to restore the original capacity of 1 ,800 acre-feet and to provide additional storage
for the 100-year flood. Work would start in winter 2002, and take 3 years to complete. The Kern
Reservoir and Ditch Company is a mutual ditch and reservoir company and a non-profit
corporation registered in the State of Colorado. Rocky Mountain Consultants, Inc., has
completed the feasibility study. Proposed funding for the project consists of a CWCS Small
Project Loan for $1,000,000. The Company plans to apply for a standard CWCS loan to help
finance the remainder of the project.

..' .lfL J
Project Location

.
.

col 1M'.

Location Map
5
