Low Line Ditch Comoanv Aulllt1entation Proiect <br /> <br />Authorization: Construction Fund <br />Water Source: South Platte River <br />Terms of Loan: $94,500 @2.7S% for 30-years <br /> <br />County: Logan <br />Project Yield: 6,650 acre-feet <br />Project Type: AugmentationlDiversion <br /> <br />The Low Line Ditch Company operates the Lowline Ditch for delivery of irrigation water within a 2,070- <br />acre service area. The headgate for the ditch is located in Logan County, at the Town of Sterling. This <br />project includes construction of 4 augmentation ponds and drilling one augmentation well to generate <br />augmentation credits to cover depletions for 13 irrigation wells used by stockholdera of the Company. <br />Additionally the Ditch Company is rehabilitating their diversion structure on the South Platte to include <br />new gates, walk platfonn, and concrete diversion walls. Brent Nation, Nation Engineering Services is the . <br />design engineer. The diversion structure and augmcntation efforts have been completed. The Company <br />has requested a March 2006 substantial completion date to coincide with their annual assessments. <br /> <br />2. Smart Brothers Incornomted Well Aulllt1entation Proicct.. <br />Authorization: Severance Tax Account County: Logan <br />Water Source: South Platte Project Yield: 1,500 ac.ft. <br />Terms of Loan: $239,850 @2.S0%for 30 years Project Type: Well Augmentation <br /> <br />.' <br /> <br />The Smart Brothera is a family owned and operated farm and custom cattle feeding operation located <br />approximately 2 miles southwest of Atwood, consisting of 1,250 acres of irrigated farm ground and 5,000 <br />head feeding operation, with plans to expand to 8,000 head. The farm has 9 tributary wells and 3 <br />commercial wells. The proposed project will add a recharge well at the river, 13,ooO-ft of 18-inch PVC <br />pipeline, and varioua recharge ponds. 4 existing wells will be tied into the new water line to allow water <br />to be pumped back to the river. The proposed augmentation plan will offset the depletions from 12 <br />existing wells, which is currently being augmented by the Logan Well Users. The project has recently <br />been completed and is scheduled for substantial completion in Novernber of 2005. <br /> <br />3. UDDer Platte & Beaver Canal Company Well Aulllt1entation Proiect <br /> <br />Authorization: Construction Fund <br />Water Source: South Platte Basin <br />Terms of Loan: $67,500 @2.2S% for to-years <br /> <br />County: Morgan - Near Fort Morgan <br />Project Yield: 32,500 acre-feet <br />Project Type: Well Augmentation <br /> <br />The Upper Platte and Beaver Canal Company operates the Canal for the benefit of their 100 shareholders by <br />providing direct flow irrigation water to an II,ooo-acre service area. The diversion and headgate are located <br />on the South Platte River, about one mile northeast of Fort Morgan. There are 97 junior irrigation wells under <br />the Upper Platte and Beaver system. The Company;will cover the depletions of these wells by constructing <br />two recharge ponds, to be filled from the Upper Platte and Beaver Canal under the Company's 1972 <br />augmentation decree. Brent Nation, Nation Engineering Services, Fort Morgan, Colorado, is the project <br />engineer. The project commenced construction in the fall of 2003 and was completed in October of 2005. <br />The Company has requested a December I, 2005 substantial completion date. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />46 <br />
