<br />Colorado Water omelllls Association Meeting: The Association held its annual meeting in Glenwood <br />Springs on Sept. 29-30. Randy Seaholm and Carol Angel made a presentation at the meeting on the "Law <br />of the Colorado River," with Carol reviewing the major documents that comprise the law and Randy <br />presenting the status of reservoir conditions and the possibility of a compact call. The CWOA meeting <br />was coordinated by the Water Division 5 Division of Water Resourees staff and attended by DWR staff <br />from every water division and Denver. Events at the meeting included a water rodeo that tested <br />participants' knowledge and skills related to both teclmical and legal aspects of water administration, and <br />presentations on climate issues, snowmaking teclmiques, key U.S. Bureau of Reclamation projects, <br />evapotranspiration calculation methodologies, water administration issues associated with gas drilling <br />operations, Colorado River Compact call administration, and a legislative update from Rep. Kathleen <br />Curry. <br /> <br /> <br />- ------ -------------- --------- <br /> <br />t <br /> <br />CWCB on the Blue River in Summit County to preserve and improve the natural environment. On the <br />same topic, Anne Janicki presented a poster display titled, "Partnering to Preserve and Improve <br />Colorado's Water Dependent Environment". The poster outlined the roles of the CWCB and the Water <br />Trust <br /> <br />Water QuaUty-Water Quantity CoordiDatloD MeetlDg. The next meeting is scheduled for Jan.4. We <br />will provide an update at the January Board meeting. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Colorado Watershed ProtectioD Fund - AppUcatloDs for 21004 tu checkofl'. The CWPF Designees <br />met on Sept. 16 and allocated the available funds to seven qualified applicants as presented in the table <br />below. The goal of the association is "to promote the conservation, <br />restoration, and preservation of Colorado's riparian areas and wetlands". The CWCB staff was asked to <br />make a presentation at this year's conference on the State's Stream and Lake Protection Program. CWCB <br />staffers, Dan Merriman and Anne Janicki, prepared a paper for the conference entitled, "Colorado's <br /> <br />11 <br />
