The reservoir will prOVide terminal storage for use within <br />the District's existing 8,596-acre service area. The Reservoir will be located about 3 miles <br />southwest of downtown Parker on Newlin Gulch, and will be filled by a variety of sources, <br />including in priority Cherry Creek and Newlin Gulch flows, ground water, and effluent from <br />advanced wastewater treatment. The dam, scheduled to start construction in 2003, would be a <br />Class 1 structure, 135 feet high, impounding a reservoir of 16,200 ac-ft. The Parker Water and <br />Sanitation District is a Title 32 Special District as defined by the State of Colorado. GEl <br />Consultants has completed the preliminary design and cost estimate for the project and the <br />District has completed the feasibility study.
