A software tool has been acquired by the ARB, a "Hailcasf' Model, which will supplement <br />meteorological forecasts issued on the NDCMP. It is a UNIX based program, which ingests <br />sounding data. It then outputs potential hail diameter forecasts, if any. Preliminary testing has <br />shown it to be quite useful, not only in predicting hail, but also in indicating the potential for <br />general thunderstorm activity. <br /> <br />e <br />
