Northwest DroD Strncture

The original design of the new outlet chatmel included the installation of several culverts through
the dike of Bob Creek to convey storm water into the new chatmel. During staking of the outlet chatmel it
became apparent, however, that a different approach would be required. It was determined that a single
discharge point would be the best solution, consisting of a 1,000 cfs design, 45-ft. wide armored drop
structure.

Added Cost: $36,000

Standbv Generators:

The Company is requesting the funding for two standby generators at the new outlet structure to
provide security and provide uninterrupted use of the outlets during power failures. The statldby generators
will be Onatl 10 kw units with automatic transfer switches powered by propane. The cost for each
generator is $6,000.

Added Cost: $12,000

Automation of Existinrz Outlet Strncture:

Costs were included in the original feasibility report for equipment to permit remote operation of the
new outlet gates. The Reservoir Company is requesting additional funding to provide remote operation of
the existing outlet gates south of the reservoir. It is expected that both outlet structures will be used to
meter water from the reservoir at different times of the year. The existing outlet structure may be used
when the reservoir is filling so that water can be stored in the new channel. At other times, particularly
during maintenance activities the new outlet structure will be used to release flows through the dry channel.
Automation of both gates will allow the Reservoir COmpatlY to provide constant flow at the discharge
flume located several miles south of the reservoir.

The proposed equipment includes communication and control equipment, atld computer software
and hardware.

Added Cost: $47,000

New Outlet Structure Added Cost

Bids were received from three Contractors for construction of the new outlet structure with the low
bid being $433,455. The original cost estimate was $400,000. The additional expense beyond the original
budget is due to higher concrete and sluice gate costs atld lUlming 'is mile of power line to the outlet
structure by the power company.

Added Cost: $33,455

Flood Protection. Water Project Planning 3nd Financing. Stream and Lake Protection
Water Supply Protection. Conservation Planning
