. It was explained in the. Director's report, as well as
.orally, that i.ncreases in t:he operating expenses over the
present bienn~um, indicate ~he need for a heavier outlay
for printing, !lalary increa,ses ()f staff members under the
:'step plan" an.d the employm~nt of two additional engineers.

(b) The Director reported that since the last meeting
of the Board, Mrs. Helen Boatright, who for many years .
served on the cleric$l and stenographic staff, had re-
signed and that she had been replaced by Mrs. Marjorie
Ward by transfer from the office of Accounts and Control,
Mrs. Ward will have charge of the clerical work of the
office, inCluding bookkeeping, and assist in carrying
the stenographic load.

(c) 011 reconnnendation and application of the Director,
the positi.ons held by Ge.orge W. Colburn and Cyrus R. Rix:'
ford of the engineering .staff, have been re-classified.
These two men serve on the engineering staff, and, under
the State 9ivil Service,. have been raised from Engineer P-l
in the fifth step of Gr~de 16, to Engineer P-II in Grade 19,
with a salary in the beginnhlg step of $310.00 per month.

(d) A reprint and advance release of t he section of
the Colorado Yearbook dealing with Colorado Water Resources
has been printed and is being distributed. The cost of
printing the pamphlet was $274.06. This material on Colo-
rado Water Resources was prepared for the Yearbook by the
Director of the Board.
