<br />tl!1 Re~u;~; <br />..&tI CONSERVATION <br />l'on.retval1O<l Starts Here. <br />To the Colorado Water Conscrvati n Board, <br /> <br />The Center for ReSource Conservatio (CRC), a non-profillocaled in Boulder, Colorado is eormnitted to leading Colorado residentS, <br />businesses, and municipalities toward Sl,stainable future and implements programs through various divisions: greenetbuilding.org, The <br />Energy Center of the Rockies, TIle W tern Water Conservancy and ReSource. Division programs include reclaimed building material <br />outlets in Boulder and Ft. Collins, Sol Powering at-Risk Communities (SPARe), the Orpban Solar Program and a website database of <br />. green building products and services. e eRC also publishes Con."M'onon Magazine, a bi-annual conservation resource for members. <br />We are an on-thc-ground organization hat provid~ 'aSsistance da\\y to residents, busillcsses, professionals and public polley makers about <br />resource conservation issues. <br /> <br />Recognizing the importance of conse ng water in the state, the CRC has founded a successnu program, Slow the Flow Colorado which <br />partners with municipalities to provide 'Yrigation s)'lltem efficiency assessments (tel1'Tled irrigation inspections) to residents, HOA's and <br />businesses. The goal of the program is provide tbe means by wbieh municipalities Can bcnefit from water conservation services in their <br />cormnunities and to provide the data, r ommendations, and education needcd to rcduce water wastc in thc landscape. The CRe is <br />plcased to submit this proposal for fun to support our 2006 Slow ti,e Flow Colorado water conservation program. <br /> <br />The CRC is asking for total support in e amount of $77,290 to run a portion of our 2006 Slow thc Flow Colorado program which plans <br />10 conduct nearly 2000 imgation inspe . ons this summer, Well over half oCthc funds for tl,e 2006 Slow the Flow Colorado budget will <br />be supplied by the participating cities a d we are requesting additional funds ITorn the ewCB. Aftcr implementing ano conducting the <br />audit program, the funds will be uscd t compile and analyze data from the program and incorporate them into a report thaI win show our <br />findings. Wc wmalso be verifying the fficaey of the program by researching and calculating post-audit walcr consumption of the audits <br />conduetcd during the 2004 and 2005 se on. The intensive work completed in prior years of collecting and imputing water tecords flom <br />completed audits (of pre-audit \Vater co sumption) will be utilized in this phase of the program. These two reports win be prescnted to the <br />ewe13. These tasks are a crucial part 0 th. irrigation audit program as they analyze !lIe state of irrigation system efficien.c)' in <br />communities and provides valuable info wtion to direct municipal water conservation efforts. The report also servcs to educate <br />.nieiPalltics on the benefits ofirrigati n auditing servie., and helps to further grow support and participation in. the progt'llm. Validating <br />efficacy of the program will provide upport to our fu"den< in promoting water oonservation in local communities and eventually as a <br />state. wide program. <br /> <br />The CRC is commincd to the success of is program and plans to seck funding to further its reach and effectivencss ovcr the coming <br />yearn. Longer term <br />plans include developing a rcferral netw I< of industry professionals allied with the Slow tbe Flow Program in order 10 help clients in <br />their etrons to follow through with morc technical repairs thaI are needed on irrigation systcms, <br /> <br />As is evidenced by the enclosed i"fonna 'on.
