White to give his views <br />on the matter. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Judge White stated that Mr. Delaney had covered the matter <br />thoroughly and that he believes the Board has a firm commitment that no <br />further federally financed transmmlntain diversion projects be built until <br />the investigations on the Western Slope are completed. <br /> <br />Mr. Delaney called on R. M. Williams, Secretary of the <br />Grand Junction Chamber of Commerce, to report on a meeting held in <br />Grand Junction vdth delegates from the Denver Chamber o~ Commerce. <br /> <br />Mr. Williams, who was.President of the Grand Junction Chamber <br />of Commerce at the time, stated that at the meeting, held August 9, 1950, <br />it was agreed that Denver appreciated the position of the Western Slope <br />and that no action would be taken until the Western Slope position had <br />been proven. <br /> <br />Mr. Delaney called on H. R. Holliday of the Delta County Water <br />Advisory Board to present the resolution.which has been adopted by several <br />Western Slope organizations. <br /> <br />Mr. Holliday read the resolution, approved by the Gunnison <br />County Chamber of Commerce, Grand Junction Chamber of Commerce, Montrose <br />County Water Advisory Board and Delta County Water Advisory Board, as <br />follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION <br /> <br />WHEREAS: We have been advised of the City and <br />County of Denver's proposal requesting that a project for the <br />diversion of municipal and industrial water from the Blue River <br />be made a participating project of the U. S. Bureau of Reclamation's <br />Upper Colorado River Yater Storage Project, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: The members of t he Colorado '{rater Conservation <br />Board have heretofore by unanimous agreement solemnly resolved and <br />approved the Fryingpan-Arkansas Diversion of water from ',7estern.; <br />Colorado to Eastern Colorado, upon the expressed-condition and <br />covenant that no additional federally financed trans-mountain <br />diversion projects shall be approved by the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board unless and until surveys are completed of the <br />waters and needs of Western Colorado and <br /> <br />I <br />
