<br />. <br /> <br />Sue Uppendahl, who worked for the Water Supply Protection section primarily on Upper <br />Colorado River endangered species issues, has resigned. Sue has been waiting for her request for <br />permanent disability due to an illness to be granted. <br /> <br />Your coordinator, Andrea Wygle, left on June 14 to work for a close friend at Arapahoe <br />Community College, located within three of her home. I am in the process of filling this position. <br />In the meantime, Noreen Chambers our office coordinator is helping out. <br /> <br />I have hired a new budget director. His name is Don Wood. He has eight years of budget <br />experience working for an executive agency, the Department of Labor and Employment, and <br />three years of experience working for the Joint Budget Committee. Don is replacing Susan Maul <br />who has transferred to the Water Supply Protection section, <br /> <br />I am in the process of hiring a new receptionist who will also have other responsibilities. <br /> <br />I have named Mike Serlet as Acting Deputy Director. When I am not avaijable please, <br />contact Mike. <br /> <br />WRIe: We have found about 1,300 square feet of office space adjacent to the Colorado <br />Water Congress Office at 1580 Logan Street in Denver. We are examining the feasibility of <br />establishing a more useful Water Resource Information Center and a Decision Support System <br />operating center. If we can secure the space and identify funding, we will accelerate the process <br />of cataloguing, imaging and making available for public use, via the Internet and in a walk-in <br />center, decades of historical documents, case files, floodplain maps and other information. <br /> <br />Budget Update: I met with Greg Walcher on July 7 to review of Fiscal year 2001-2002 <br />. budget proposal and to review the need for additional funding for some activities. <br /> <br />### <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />11 <br />
