Walcher <br />Executive Director <br /> <br />TO: <br />FROM: <br />DATE: <br />RE: <br /> <br />Colorado Water Conservation Board Members <br />Dan McAuliffe <br />September 11, 2001 <br />Agenda Item 2-Administration of Oath <br /> <br />Dan McAuliffe <br />Deputy Director <br /> <br />Rod Kuharich <br />Director <br /> <br />37-60-104 (2) (CRS) states that: <br /> <br />The appointed members of said board shall be chosen geographically as follows: Four from <br />the western slope and five from the eastern slope; but, of the five members to be appointed <br />from me eastern slope, one shall be from the Rio Grande drainage basin, one from the North <br />Platte drainage basin, one from the Arkansas drainage basin, one from the South Platte <br />drainage basin outside of the city and county of Denver, and one from the city and county of <br />Denver and intimately familiar with its water problems; and that of the four members to be <br />appointed from the western slope, one shall be from the Yampa-White drainage basin, one <br />from the main Colorado drainage basin, one from the Gunnison-Uncompahgre drainage basin, <br />and one from the San Miguel-Dolores-San Juan drainage basins. Before entering upon the <br />discharge of his duties, each appointed member shall make, subscribe, and file with the <br />secretary of state the oath prescribed by the constitution. <br /> <br />In 2001 Governor Owens appointed and the Senate confirmed the appointment ofthree Board <br />members: <br /> <br />· Dave Smim of Meeker was re-appointed. Smith will be serving his seventh three-year term- <br />a record for CWCB service. Smith represents the Yampa and White River Basins in <br />Northwest Colorado. <br /> <br />· Greg Hoskin, a lawyer from Grand Junction who will represent interests along the mainstem <br />of the Colorado River; <br /> <br />· Carolyn McIntosh, a lawyer from Denver who will represent the City and County of Denver. <br /> <br />On August 1, Ray Wright also formally replaced Sen. Lewis Entz as a Board member to represent the <br />Rio Grande Basin. <br /> <br />Each appointed member must take and subscribe the attached oath. Board Members Smith and <br />Hoskin took and subscribed the oath in July. Members McIntosh and Wright must take and subscribe <br />the oath at the September meeting. <br /> <br />Flood Protection.
