the operation of that, particular system.

MR. STAPLETON: Any further questions?

MR. SPARKS: I have a comment. Mr. Chairman, I.was quite interested in
the remarks made by Representative Hinman and the County Commissioner
about the use of the Winter Park area by the, residents of the Denver _ I
metropolitan area. As a matter of fact, as we all well realize, the ,
overwhelming majority of the people who use that area are from the _
Denver metropolitan area. I myself and Mr. Stapleton both live in this
area, as well as some other board members here. It intrigues me a
little because of this reverse effect. Denver contends, and correctly
so, that many of its facilities are used by other residents and therefore
the state should contribute to its enterprises here in the city. This
is sort of a reverse twist.,

(Laughter. )

MR. STAPLETON: Any further questions?

. .
MR. BUCHHEISTER: To comment on that, recreation is becoming ,a very
important aspect of everyone's daily life, and this shows in the amount
of free time that people have. Colorado has,an indusu~~in tourism and
recreation. I think that in the process of providing recreation, some
of the utilities, I'm sure the county has this problem as well, take a
back seat and those of:us that: are left provide the utilities for req-
reation, are forced, as. you mentioned in your earlier comments, to seek
financial assistance in the development, of good, stable utilities -'not
only in water but in-waste water,:and roads and ,that sort' of thing.
Thank you.

MR. STAPLETON: ,Thank you verymuc::h.

I will entertain a motion on the Winter Park project.

MR. BENTON: I will move that it be,approved;

MR. FETCHER: I will second.

MR. STAPLETON: It's been regularly moved and seconded. Any further
discussion?

(No response.)
All those in ,favor, signify by saying "Aye."
(Unanimous "Ayes. ")

I

MR. STAPLETON: Opposed?
(No response.):'

The motion is approved.

-50-
