The agreement <br />was among the county, towns of Yampa and Oak Creek, the Upper Yampa River Conservancy <br />District and Morrison Creek Warer and Sanilmion Dislncl. <br /> <br />Along with Ihe Morrison Creek District, two other metro districts liled statements of opposition: <br />Slcamboalll Melfapalilan District and the Lake Catamount No. I :\tctro District. <br /> <br />The opponents also included companies and individual landowners. Trout Unlimiled, a nonprofit <br />dedicaled to river conservalion, filed a statement of opposition to the city's application and has <br />been involved in other slate waler cases for recreation.ll Waler rights. <br /> <br />VGS Emerprises Inc., Ihe Whanon Developmem Group LLC and Pinnacle Peak Ranch _. three <br />companies thai filed Waler right 3ppliCalion less than a month before the cily __ all tiled <br />statements of opposition. <br /> <br />Other filers were Lafarge West Ine.. Catamount Development Inc. and Ihe Roul! County Fann <br />Bureau. Individuals who filed statements of opposition were Dean and Jim Rossi and Michael <br />and Susanne Holloran. <br /> <br />On Dec. 26, Ihe city filed water rights on Ihe Yampa Ri\er for two river structures: the D Hole <br />and Charlie's Hole. The.: two structures are kayaldng play holes. but Ihe city's application <br />indicates thatlhe Waler righl also would benclit other recrealional Uses such as boa ling. tuhing, <br />railing. Jloaling and canoeing. <br /> <br />The city is requesting a recreational in-channel di\'ersion from April 15 to Oct. 31.
