The deadline to submit <br />application to receive grants for the 2004/05 cycle is April 30. <br /> <br />Water AC<luisition Program Slralegic Plan: We have prepared a draft Strategic Plan that <br />identifies key objectives and goals and the implemelllation strategies and lactics required to <br />achievc the goals. Additionally, dmn-marketing documents have been crealed 10 aid in <br />communicating hy technical and programmatic infomlation. <br /> <br />The initial proposal contemplated a schedule to involve key partners and special interest groups <br />in February 2004, a Board workshop in March 2004, and Board presentation and approval in <br />May 2004. Ho\vever, stafThas undertaken a strategic planning initiative for the entire Stream <br />and Lake Protection Program. This planning cffort will also rcquirc input from key partners and . <br />interest groups. To make the mosl efficient use of staff lime and available funds, staff has <br />adjusted the schedule for Ihe Water Acquisition Program Strategic Plan to coincide wilh the <br />schedule developed for the Stream and Lake Proteclion Program planning document. SlafTis <br />currently working with the CWCB Director, Deputy Director and the consultant 10 prepare the <br />projcct scope and a timeline for the combined planning elTort. More infonnalion on the process <br />and timeline will be a\'ailable at the ,\lay Board mecting. <br /> <br />2004 GO\"ernor"s Conference on Emergency ;\llma2ement: The Colorado Office of <br />Emergency ManagemcllI (OE\!) hOsted Ihe 2004 Governor's Conference on Emergency <br />,~1anagement on Feb. 24-25 in Sroomlicld. Governor O\'.'cns gave the kC)11Ote address. <br />Appro.\imatcly 300 emergency managers and related officials from around the stale allended the <br />conference. The eWeB co.produccd a mitigation grant track consisting of si:x conscclltive <br />breakout sessions with a member from the C\\.'CB nood protection section speaking at each <br />session.
