The initial wo.rk o.n SWSI invo.lved finalizing basin adviso.rs, identificatio.n o.fkey <br />perfo.rmance measures fo.r the pro.ject, public relatio.ns activities, o.rganizatio.nal co.nsideratio.ns and Io.gistics fo.r the <br />public and basin ro.undtable meetings, and initiatio.n o.f data co.llectio.n. These to.pics will be reviewed at the Bo.ard <br />meeting and are briefly summarized here and in Attachment A. A Po.werPo.int presentatio.n o.n the SWSI process <br />will also. be pro.vided alo.ng with a review o.f the ro.le o.f individual Bo.ard members. <br /> <br />Proiect Go.als and Critical Success Facto.rs- The sco.pe o.f wo.rk fo.r the pro.ject o.utlined the specific co.ntractual <br />appro.ach to. SWSI. CWCB staff and management also. met with CDM and several subco.ntracto.rs to. further <br />discuss the project approach and identify critical success facto.rs. The fo.llo.wing go.als fo.r SWSI were discussed: <br />develo.P a co.mmo.n understanding o.f supply and demands; have a credible and defensible pro.cess and repo.rt; <br />o.btain reSPo.nse and feedback fro.m all perspectives; develo.P Po.tential so.lutio.ns to. water supply needs; have a plan <br />fo.r o.ngo.ing tracking and implementatio.n; refme CWCB' s and basin leadership in future water supply planning and <br />implementatio.n, So.me o.f the critical success facto.rs identified include: inco.rpo.ratio.n o.f info.rmatio.n fro.m SEO, <br />------B8W;-&ate-Parks,Water-~t1ality Contrel-Th:vi&iefHllld..wate-r IIsers and proYiders,-tim~ly and tho.mugh <br />co.mmunicatio.n with all team members, especially CWCB; fo.CUS o.n o.bjectives, no.t interests/Po.sitio.ns; have a <br />clearly defined process fo.r basin ro.undtables, and adhere to. pro.ject schedule, <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Public Relatio.ns Activities - Co.nsistent with DNR Po.licy, the SWSI team agreed that media inquires sho.uld all be <br />directed to. Dawn Taylo.r Owens. This will ensure that we have direct, simple, and co.nsistent feedback and <br />info.rmatio.n fo.r the media. The SWSI team is also. wo.rking o.n a media kick o.ff event but at the time o.f this <br />writing the details are no.t yet available. Attachment A pro.vides a summary o.f ho.W we anticipate o.rganizing the <br />basin meetings. There is also. a summary o.f the catego.ries o.f interest gro.UPS that we reco.mmend participate o.n the <br />Basin Ro.undtable meetings. A draft letter has been prepared so.liciting no.minatio.n fo.r membership o.n the Basin <br />Ro.undtables. The Bo.ard will be asked to. provide approval o.f the basic catego.ries o.f interest gro.UPS but please <br />keep in mind that all meeting will be o.pen to. all interest gro.UPS and the public, <br /> <br />Data Co.llectio.n - The data co.llectio.n effo.rts have just go.tten started with a review o.f CWeB's data base and <br />initial dialo.gues with water pro.viders that are currently implementing o.r have recently finished water supply <br />studies, We also. met with the CWCB's dro.ught co.ntracto.r to. discuss the Po.tential use o.fthe data fro.m the <br />Drought Study. <br /> <br />Flood Protection.
