"I'd like to address this question to
Larry or whoever else might be able to answer
it. Do you have any time ideas as to when
this analog may be completed for the 174 miles
from Canon City to the stateline?"

"This is Leonard Wood. We have a prelimi-
nary model already being built now. It is cut
out and we have the data to work on it to
analyze our problems on the big model. We
hope to start on the big model sometime this
winter and have some sort of answers by late
winter or early spring."

"Mr. Chairman, Mrs. Keating, Board members,
ladies and gentlemen, it is a pleasure to
see this presentation here which, I think.
shows the problem. I have a few general
figures of mine which I am sure the gentlemen
from the U.S.G.S. can correct. It was my
recollection that the general report on the
Arkansas Basin was to the effect that there
was in storage, roughly, the figure that I
have in mind is 15 million acre-feet and that
the comparable figure on the South Platte is
25 million acre-feet, and that the general
conclusion, we'll say as distinguished from
the scientific report, was that this ground
water was available for proper control and
use by all the uses in the valley if they
could be properly managed.

.1 think Mr. McLaughlin maybe could correct
first, the figures as to the availability of
ground water and whether this specifically in
the Arkansas Valley lies in the area depicted
by these maps."
