While we agree that this is an iIllportant issue, as we discussed, we will not be <br />seeking IU\ opinion I1t this time. However, ~ are very interested in worklng with your <br />organization as we explore and develop a.Io]lg tCIIll solution for replacing the bypass. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The United States is committed to fulfilling the intent of the Act, which was to mcct thc <br />provisions of Minule 242 without causing water supply or economic impacts to tho <br />Colorado RiVer Basin States, Recognizing \loth tho concerns of the Basin States, Il.Dd the <br />environmental CQncems related to the Cicnega de Santa Clara, Reclamation continues to believe <br />that it is prudent to move forward and expeditiously develop and implement replacement <br />measures. We are scheduling a meeting on August 28,2001 (see attached ag!lllda) to discuss <br />bypass replal:ement alternatives. <br /> <br />Thank you for your interest and involvement.
