Listed species: Colorado River Squawfish, Humpback Chub, Boneytail Chub, and Razorback <br />Sucker <br /> <br />B. Habitat designation: nearly 2000 miles of river, from Craig and Rifle, Colorado to the <br />Mexican border <br /> <br />C. The Upper Basin Recovery Plan, established in 1988, has served as the reasonable and <br />prudent alternative in Section 7 consultations under the Endangered Species Act, for over <br />200 pennits for the development of over 180,000 acre feet of water in the Upper Basin. <br />Total costs of recovery may approach $100 million. <br />I. Flows <br />2. Habitat acquisition <br />3. Non-native stocking regulation <br />4. Native stocking <br />5. Elimination of barriers in river <br />6. Channel/side channel modification <br /> <br />D. Lower Basin Multi-Species Habitat Conservation Plan - A similar approach to the Upper <br />Basin program, designed to implement measures so as to allow for operations in the <br />Lower Basin consistent with the Endangered Species Act.
