No. 173 <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />823 State Centennial Building <br />l313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />February 11, 1981 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a floodplain information report entitled "Flood- <br />plain Information and Flood Control & Drainage Plan, Dry Creek <br />No. l," dated April, 1980, has been prepared by Water Resources <br />Consultants, Inc., at the request of Boulder County and the <br />City of Longmont, Colorado; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floodplain <br />data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels <br />or basins of the study area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Longmont and Boulder County have re- <br />quested the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and <br />approve the floodplain areas as set forth in the aforesaid <br />report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973, requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist <br />in the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised <br />Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses <br />on or along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin <br />only after designation and approval by the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board; and <br /> <br />liHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1) (c), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to desig- <br />nate and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins <br />and to make such designations available to legislative bodies <br />of local jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said report and <br />does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water Conservation Board <br />that the Board designate and approve as floodplain areas those <br />areas inundated by a 100-year flood (intermediate regional <br />flood) as described by the floodwater surface elevations and <br />profiles in said report; <br />
