The
reservoir is located 2 miles southwest of Greeley on Ashcroft Draw, a tributary to the South Platte
River. On August 10, 2002 a large sinkhole developed on the downstream slope of the dam, over
the outlet pipe. The sinkhole is about 15 feet in diameter and 20 feet deep, and was caused by a
failure of the 24-inch corrugated metal outlet conduit. The reservoir is being drained for repairs.
Work needs to be completed by spring 2003 to allow storage for the 2003 irrigation season. The
reservoir has a capacity of 200 ac-ft. The Lake Arrowhead Water Association is a non-profit ..
water company registered in the State of Colorado. John Gauthiere, P.E. has completed a ..
preliminary assessment of repair alternatives, and will also complete the feasibility study.
Proposed funding for the project consists of a CWCS Small Project Loan for $300,000 and
$100,000 from the Company.

e

Location Map

4
