Four Corps District Offices administrate the Corps presence in Colorado: 1) Omaha,
2) Albuquerque, 3) Sacramento, and 4) Kansas City. The Corps' first flood study was located in
Weld County, Colorado in 1939 and their first flood control project was the Creede, Colorado
flood channel in that was constructed in 1949. Subsequent to these two Corps activities, many
Colorado communities have received federal flood control dollars through the Corps programs
studies, and projects.

The Corps' annual project review meeting was hosted by DNR and CWCB staffs on February 25
and 26, 2002 in Denver, Colorado. The Deputy District Engineers for the Corps' Programs and
Project Management group provided the State with presentations and project updates regarding
the Corps' FY 02 and FY 03 activities and budgets.

Corp of Enl!ineers Prol!ram and Proiect Activities

General Investigations:
.
