The motion was seconded by Bob Jackson, The motion passed by unanimous <br />decision (7-0). Lochhead and Eisel were absent <br /> <br />Small Dam Site Reconnaissance Program - Bill Stanton provided and overview of this <br />program. There was general Board member discussion with respect the Decision Support <br />System and compact entitlement Lile reported that a consultant would need to be hired <br />due to the lack of staff time for this project Janice Sheftel made a motion to do a pre- <br />feasibility type investigation for $35,000. The motion was seconded by Dave Smith. <br />Additional Board member discussion ensued, and the motion passed unanimously (9-0). <br /> <br />Front Range Metro Water Supplv - A motion was made by Eisel that the Board make a <br />request for funding up to $450,000 from the Construction Fund to conduct a Front Range <br />Water Supply Systems Integration Investigation. This Investigation will focus on at least <br />the following three targeted potential sources to enhance Front Range water supply: <br /> <br />I) <br /> <br />The Barr Lake System, which is composed ofFRICO, Burlington, and the <br />Henrylyn companies; <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />2) Integrating the opportunities available through the Northern Colorado <br />Water Conservancy District with the water supply systems for the Denver <br />metro area; and <br />3) Conjunctive use of groundwater and surface water in the Denver metro <br />area. <br /> <br />Efforts will be made to joint venture with entities that have an interest through their <br />contribution of funds and in-kind resources. The governor and Executive Director of the <br />Department of Natural Resources and members of the Water Conservation Board <br />representing Denver and the South Platte should engage in a process to inform effective <br />parties and obtain input from them on how to proceed, and if appropriate, form a Front <br />Range Water Supply Task Force with a pre-determined completion date. The motion was <br />seconded by Bob Jackson, Extensive discussion regarding the motion continued between <br />the Board members, No amendments were made to the motion, and it passed by <br />unanimous (10-0) decision, <br /> <br />Out of Basin Transfers - There was general Board member discussion on deferment of <br />further study and completion of the current study until the Front Range Metro Water <br />Supply Study was done, A motion was made by David Harrison to not include anything <br />for Out of Basin Transfer in the Construction Fund right now, and that the Board shortly - <br />develops some language explaining the rationale.
