Stone entering <br />into a cooperative agreement with the United States Geologioal <br />Survey and the Bureau of Reolamation for stream gaging stations <br />for investigational purposes, within the State of Colorado. for <br />the present fisoal year, involving an expenditure of $6.500, be <br />approved. <br /> <br />The motion was unanimously oarried. <br /> <br />It was moved by J. M. Dille and seoonded by Judge John B. <br />O'Rourke that the minutes of the Board meeting of June 9-10, 1942, <br />be approved without change or oorreotion. <br /> <br />The motion was unanimously oarried. <br /> <br />The meeting reoessed at 12 noon to reoonvene at 2:00 p.m. <br /> <br />***** <br /> <br />The meeting of the Colorado Water Conservation Board reoonvened at <br />2:15 p.m., September 16, 1942. Governor Ralph L. Carr, Chairman of the Board, <br />was present and presided. <br /> <br />Governor Ralph L. Carr stated that he wished to submit the appointment; <br />of Clifford H. Stone to aot as oom~t oommissioner to represent Colorado in <br />the negotiation of a oompact between the states of Colorado and New Mexioo, <br />involving the waters of the Costilla River. He asked the approval of the <br />Board for suoh appointment pursuant to the statute. <br /> <br />It was moved by Judge John B. O'Rourke and seoonded by J. M. Dille: <br /> <br />That the appointment of Clifford H. Stwe by Governor Ralph <br />L. Carr to aot as oompaot oommissioner fer the Costilla River to <br />negO,tiate a oompaet between the states of Celorado and New Mexioo <br />be consented to and approved by the BOi\.rd. <br /> <br />The motion was unanimously oarried. <br /> <br />Direotor Stone reported that it was necessary for the Board to make <br />preparations for the initiation of oompaot negotiations between the states <br />of Colorado and Wyoming with respeot to the Li tile Snake River. He explained <br />that the Bureau of Reolamation had prooeeded far enough with investigations <br />on the Little Snake River to provide neoessary information needed in oompaot <br />negotiations with the exoeption that the Bureau had asked the states of Colo- <br />rado and Wyoming to perform certain investigational work and studies whioh <br />were needed in suoh negotiations. He explained that steps were being taken <br />by Colorado and Wyoming to do this work. He also reported that it was agreed <br />by him and L. C. Bishop, State Engineer and Seoretary of the Wyoming Water <br />Conservation Board, that projeot development On the Little Snake River should <br />be undertaken jointly and at the same time, even thOugh suoh development <br />
