For additional information contact Steve <br />Miller at the CWCB. <br /> <br />SECWCD Meetings and Events: The Southeastern Colorado Water Conservancy District <br />Monthly Board Meeting Meetings and the Water Activity Enterprise meetings are held the third <br />Thursday of each month, at the District office, 31717 United Avenue, Pueblo, Colorado. For <br />more information go to www.secwcd.org <br /> <br />LA VWCD Meetings: Lower Arkansas Valley Water Conservancy District Meetings are held the <br />third Wednesday of every month, held 801 Swink Avenue, Rocky Ford, Colorado. For more information go to WWW.uawc.org . <br /> <br />Colorado River Basin <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Colorado River - Seven-State Discussions Update: <br />I. Colorado River Long-Term Augmentation Options: A contract between the Southern <br />Nevada Water Authority and Colorado River Consultants Uoint venture between <br />CH2MHill and Black and Veatch) has been signed and the consulting team has begun the <br />process of contacting representatives of the Seven Colorado Basin States to seek their <br />input on (I) potential augmentation options for evaluation and consideration and (2) to <br />obtain prior studies, reports and any other data related to any of the options. Towards this <br />end, Dr. Les Lampe and other project team members will be at the July Board meeting to <br />seek input from the Board. Rod Kuharich and Randy Seaholm are Colorado's designated <br />representatives for this study effort. A copy of the proposed scope of study can be found <br />in the attachments. We will also seek and coordinate input from Colorado's water <br />community as part ofthis effort and have recently sent a letter on this matter to our water <br />users seeking their input. <br /> <br />2. July 14th Seven Colorado River Basin States Meeting: The Seven Colorado River Basin <br />states met in Denver on July 14. The agenda for the meeting included updates on <br />Reclamation's discussions with Nevada and Arizona regarding the draft 7-State <br />agreement, Reclamation's EIS/NEPA process for lower basin shortage guidelines and <br />coordinated operations of Lakes Powell and Mead, weather modification, the <br />Intentionally Created Surplus (lCS) demonstration Program in the Lower Basin, status of <br />the Yuma Desalter, status of the Drop 2 Reservoir Project, the long-term augmentation <br />study, the recent hydrologic determination, and the status of litigation involving the All <br />American Canal, and with the Center for Biological Diversity concerning operations of <br />Glen Canyon Dam and the related Adaptive Management Program. Further Information <br />will be provided at the July Board meeting. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Colorado River Water Use: As of June I storage in the four major Upper Basin reservoirs <br />increased by 1,430,700 acre-feet and storage in the Lower Basin reservoirs decreased by 467,100 <br />acre-feet during May. Total system active storage as of June 7 was 34.852 million acre-feet <br />(MAF), or 59 percent of capacity, which is 0.451 MAF more than one year ago. <br /> <br />21 <br />
