:026

The Colorado appropriations, recognized by the
Court, were:

18,000 acre-feet
2,000 acre-feet
20,000 acre"-feet

If this total of 20,000 acre-feet is adde~ to' the 170,000
acre-feet stated to be the available supply at t~e gaging
station at Woods, the resulting amount of 190,000 acre-feet
would constitute the original or reconstructed water
supply above that gage as determined by the Court,
exclusive of the depletions by Colorado Meadowlands.

Skyline Ditch
Wilson Supply

I

The gaging station at Woods was not operated after
1911. In order to compare the reconstructed-water supply
of the period 1914 to 1953 with the said 190,000 acre-
feet, it is necessary to add to the recorded combined
flow of Laramie River and Pioneer Canal the amounts which
were actually diverted out of the basin, plus 4,000 acre-
feet for~diversions between Woods and Pioneer Dam. Records
of the discharge of Laramie River and Pioneer Canal near
Woods, Wyoming are available for the years 1912-1924, 1927,
and 1932-1953. For these years, the May through September
records are complete, and there_are 7 years for which there
is a complete record for:an entire year. For the years
1917-1924, 1927, and 1932-1950 annual flows were estimated
from a correlation curve based on the relationship between
May through September runoff and annual runoff for the
years of complete annual" record. Annual flows for- the-
years when the gaging-station did not operate, or 1925,
1926 and 1928-1931, were estimated by correlation with
recorded flow at the gage on the Laramie River near Jelm,
Wyoming, which is located about 13 ~iles above the Pioneer
Dam. The annual flows of Laramie River and Pioneer Canal
are shown in Column 2 of the following tabulation." Also
shown in Column 3 for each year is the total diversion
out of the basin, including certain amounts for- diversions
by the Divide Ditch from Deadman Creek~ Prior tb 1935
there are no records of these diversions from Deadman
Creek to Sand Creek. For the purpose of this tabulation
an amount of 2QOO acre-feet was added each year until "the
actual record began in 1935. 'Values are in acre-feet.

I
