<br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD MEETING <br />AUditorium, Adams State College <br />Alamosa, Colorado <br /> <br />February 3, 1962 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Vice-Chairman <br />Stapleton at 2:00 o'clock P. M. <br /> <br />MR. STAPLETON: <br /> <br />Members of the Board, ladies and <br />gentlemen, this is a special meeting of <br />the Colorado Conservation Board held to <br />consider the Closed Basin Division of the <br />San Luis Valley Project. <br /> <br />I might say at the outset, this is <br />the second time within about two years that <br />the Board has had the pleasure of being <br />down here in Alamosa. We are delighted <br />to be here on a question of vital concern <br />to, not only you, but the state as a whole. <br />I would like to announce at first that no <br />smoking is permitted in this auditorium <br />and we would appreciate it if you would <br />abide by that. <br /> <br />On the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board, your area is represented by Judge <br />Dick Con our and I would like for him to <br />introduce to you the members of the <br />Colorado Water Conservation Board. Dick. <br /> <br />JUDGE CONOUR: <br /> <br />Ladies and gentlemen, it is a pleasure <br />to introduce to you the members of the Board <br />who represent you and the rest of Colorado <br />in water matters. <br /> <br />The Chairman of our Board is Governor <br />McNichols. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />(Applause) <br /> <br />The Vice-Chairman is Ben Stapleton, <br />Junior, of Denver, who represents that area. <br /> <br />(Applause) <br />
