BASIS FOR INSTREAM FLOW RECOMMENDATION

· The BLM documented that a natural environment is present in the form of a rainbow trout fishery.

Based on the BLM's biological recommendation, flows of3.4 cfs, summer, and 1.4 cfs, winter, are ~c .
necessary to preserve the natural environment to a reasonable degree. However, the Summer instream
flow recommendation was reduced to 2.0 cfs (7/15 - 10131) based on the water availability analysis.
The BLM believes the lower flow recommendation will still preserve the natural environment.

CWCB staffhas conducted a water availability analysis and determined these amounts are available for.

the Board's appropriation. _. "
CWCB staff has determined that adequate water supplies exist such that the natural environment~ay be
preserved without limiting or foreclosing the exercise of valid existing water rights.
