Walcher <br />Executive Director <br /> <br />Dan McAuliffe <br />Acting Director <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The CWCB may annually request up to five percent of the funds in the State <br />Severance Tax Trust Fund Operational Account. These requests are forwarded to the <br />state Minerals, Energy and Geology Policy Advisory Board (MEGA) Board for review <br />and approval. The requests are then forwarded to the DNR Executive Director for review <br />and inclusion in the Department's annual budget request. <br /> <br />Beginning on July 1,2000 the CWCB has $585,000 available for expenditures in <br />Fiscal Year 2000-2001. The following is a description of the current projects we intend to <br />fund. We are now recommending that you approve the proposed expenditures so we <br />can commit the funds as requested. <br /> <br />During this fiscal year we intend to assess a three-percent "operating allocation" <br />to cover the administrative costs associated with the severance tax programs. This charge <br />will be assessed prior to funds being committed for a proj ect. <br /> <br />Statewide Water Planning <br /> <br />1. Regional Planning Meetings/Watershed Planning <br /> <br />Grantee/Contractor: CWCB <br /> <br />Amount of request: $40,000 <br /> <br />Description: The CWCB's local water basin planning efforts began in 2000, Meetings <br />are being scheduled and local water basin planning fact sheets were produced. Updating <br />the information in the fact sheets and holding meetings is expected to continue in this <br />fiscal year. This information will be transferred to the Internet and updated annually. <br />Additional products, like specific basin instream flow fact sheets, will be produced as by- <br />products and made available in hard copy and on the Internet. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Flood Protection.
