September 22-23. 1988, Board Meeting-- <br />HJR 1001 Water Policy Study <br /> <br />Reference <br /> <br />Please find enclosed for your ready reference the Board's <br />August 29 letter to the appointed legislators. <br /> <br />HJR 1001 <br /> <br />The relevant portion of HJR 1001 is quoted below for your <br />ready reference: <br /> <br />That the Colorado Water Conservation Board <br />and eight legislators appointed as set <br />forth below are directed to study to the <br />extent they determine necessary the state's <br />current drought preparedness. water <br />policies, and statutes and report to the <br />General Assembly by January 15. 1989. its <br />[sic] findings and suggestions for changing <br />laws relating to the state's water <br />resources. Such study shall be directed to <br />the issues raised at the July 14 water <br />forum held in the old Supreme Court <br />chambers and the following issues:..... <br />The study need not comment on each issue. <br />The...Board and the eight legislators may <br />consult. as may be required. with the <br />Governor's office. with the Department of <br />Natural Resources. and the Department of <br />Health during the course of the study. <br />This study shall not require addition of <br />staff to any agency or any additional <br />appropriation to any agency. <br /> <br />8196E <br />
