<br />. <br /> <br />(xi) Require within any AD and AH Zone on <br />the FIRM that all new construction and <br />substantial improvements of residential <br />structures have the lowest floor <br />(including basement) elevated above the <br />highest adjacent grade at least as high <br />as the depth number specified in feet <br />on the FIRM (at least two feet if no <br />depth number is specified). <br /> <br />(xii) Require within Zones AD and AH adequate <br />drainage paths around structures on <br />slopes to guide floodwaters around and <br />away from proposed structures. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />(xiii) New construction and substantial <br />,improvement of any commercial, <br />industrial or other nonresidential <br />structure shall either have the lowest <br />floor (including basement) elevated at <br />or above the regulatory flood <br />protection elevation; or, together with <br />attendant utility and sanitary <br />facilities, shall: <br /> <br />(a) be flood proofed so that below the <br />regulatory flood protection <br />elevation the structure is <br />watertight with walls substantially <br />impermeable to the passage of water; <br /> <br />(b) have structural components capable <br />of resisting hydrostatic and <br />hydrodynamic loads and effects of <br />buoyancy; and <br /> <br />(c) be certified by a registered <br />professional engineer or architect <br />that the design and methods of <br />construction are in accordance with <br />accepted standards ~f practice for <br />meeting the provisions of this <br />paragraph. Such certifications <br />shall be provided to the official as <br />set forth in Section 4.1. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />(xiv) Require within any AO and AH Zone on <br />the FIRM that all new construction <br />and substantial improvements of <br />nonresidential structures (i) have <br />the lowest floor (including <br />basement) elevated above the highest <br />adjacent grade at least as high as <br /> <br />-18- <br /> <br />- <br />
