"No hearings have been scheduled in the
Interior and Insular Affairs Committee of the
House. If the House gets around to it at all
it would be in late Hay or early June. The
House Interior and Insular Affairs Committee
will adjourn on about the 15th of July. There
will be no more hearings in that committee
after about the 15th of July."

"Well, like I said, I haven't even read
the bill but in just the title alone there is
an inference there of a supreme decision group
on all water matters or development whether
the federal government or otherwise are in-
volved. Sometime in the future it seems like
a potential possibility that this could go
into that. I have no background on the bill
at all."

"It might work out all right. It largely
depends on the people who are appointed to the
commission. If we get four or five people that
I can think of offhand around the united States,
geography professors from the University of
Chicago and a couple of economists from Harvard,
we are in trouble. If we get some reasonable
people on the commission it might work out all
right. We have a number of college professors
who would like to get on this and as far as
some of them are concerned, the human race
doesn't exist."

"Does it spell out the authority?"

"Yes, it's pretty well spelled out in the
bill as to what they are to do."
