Dear Mr. MacDougall,

I have finished my report on the connection between the riparian
vegetation, the ground water and the surface water in Little Dry
Creek in Greenwood village. In this report I provide an analysis
of the hydrologic regime that affects the riparian vegetation and
make my recommendations regarding stream flows required to
support the existing and future riparian vegetation along the
Creek.

As you know I have worked closely on this project with Jay
Skinner of the Colorado Division of wildlife. He will be
submitting a separate, but parallel report.

My studies indicate that the riparian vegetation is dependant
upon the ground water system under the floodplain of Little Dry
Creek. This ground water system is completely connected and
supported by surface water in Little Dry Creek. Any rises and
falls in water levels in Little Dry Creek are followed almost
immediately by rises and falls in the ground water table. Thus,
any withdrawals of water from Little Dry Creek will directly
affect ground water levels, and the riparian vegetation along the
Little Dry Creek corridor.
