<br />Agenda Item 3 - Approval of Minutes, July 14, 1985 Meeting <br /> <br />Mr. McDonald indicated that the minutes of the July meeting <br />were not yet ready. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Agenda Item 4 -,Directors Report <br /> <br />Mr. McDonald.reported on the following items: <br /> <br />l. Dolores project/Monument Creek Reservoir <br /> <br />Mr. McDonald summarized his August 28, 1985, memorandum <br />to the Board (Appendix B). <br /> <br />2. Animas-La Plata pro~ect <br /> <br />Mr. McDonald reported that the Congress had passed. and <br />the President had signed the supPlemental appropriations bill for <br />FY 1985 which includes $1 million for initiation of construction <br />on this proj ect.. These funds are contingent upon ..the execution <br />of a contract between. non-federal entities and the ,Secretary of <br />the Interior providing for cost-aharing for the project. This <br />agreement must be executed by June 30, 1986. (See attachment to <br />Appendix B). <br /> <br />3. South Platte Channelization project <br /> <br />Mr. McDonald reported that Littleton had proposed the . <br />extension of Ken Caryl Road acro~s the Littleton floodplain park, <br />which park encompasses the first st.retch 'of the- river immediately <br />below Chatfield Dam. He summarized .the issues addressed in. his <br />July 8, 1985, letter to the Corp~ of Engineers. (Copy of letter <br />attached to Appendix B.) <br /> <br />T <br /> <br />, <br />Mr. David Walker~ Deputy Director, reported on the <br />status.on the channelization project being constructed by the <br />Corps of Engineers. He. reported that land acquisition for stages <br />land 2 is complete and ii? under.way on Stage. 3. .. . <br /> <br />4. Dallas Creek <br /> <br />[ <br /> <br />5. Narrows unit <br /> <br />Mr. McDonald reported that no funds were included in the <br />FY 1985 supplemental appropriations bill for the NarrOWS Unit. <br />Three unresolved issues are responsible .for the qelay in <br />obtaining construction funds. These are: 1) estimated costs <br />exceed the authorized ceiling; 2) the water service. contract has <br />to be re-negotiated; and 3) whool?ingcrane habitat requirements <br />along the Platte River in central Nebraska have yet to resolved. <br /> <br />6.
