134

.

Work has commenced to implement the Water Education Initiative using $115,000 approved by the
General Assembly in 2000. These funds would be used, if necessary, to supplement the initiative if more CD's
containing lesson plans need to be produced, if funds are needed to support Children's Water Festivals, or to
hire a project coordinator. The initiative is designed to improve public understanding of the value of water as a
scarce natural resource. The Colorado water Congress Education Committee has recommended that we use
these funds to hire a contract "education coordinator." We are expecting a scope of work in October.

CWCB - Water Information Center
Authorization: FY 200 I
Water Source: N/A
Location: 1580 Logan in Denver

Grant Amount: $30,000
Project Type: Water Inforrrultion
Project Manager: Dan McAuliffe

This project is The CWCB has identified available office space next to the Colorado Water Congress
office at 1580 Logan in Denver.
