ouo.,;)

I

As far as power marketing is concerned,
power contracts now in force with 83 customers
call for the delivery of 450,000 kilowatts
of firm power this coming winter and about
850,000 kilowatts.during the summer of 1969.
Thus the purchasers of Storage Project power
will be receiving over 80 percent of the
capacity of the project by next year. Most
of the contracts call for an increase in the
rate of delivery in successive years.

The progress in power marketing is re-
flected in the financial status of the proj- "
ect. For the 12 months ended June 30, 1968,
revenues were sufficient to meet all expenses
of operation, including the year's interest
on the unpaid balance of the investment, and
contributed $52,000 to the accumulated amount
to be repaid. Present repayment studies show
that all costs allocated to power will be com-
pletely repaid with interest by the 39th year
of operation.

The power contracting activities of the
Bureau now relate chiefly to amending con-
tracts to place the customers' 1975-76 needs
under contract. This work has been proceed-
ing for just about a year, and in this time
contracts were completed with 16 agencies
and many more are in the final stages of
negotiation. In Colorado, the customers that
have completed their 1975-76 contract~ are
the cities of Delta, Oak Creek, ceater, and
Fort Morgan and Intermountain REA.

I

Under general investigations, review
comments on the June 1967 proposed feasibility
report, Battlement Mesa Project, have been
received from all state and federal cooperat-
ing agencies. The report on the project
received from the Federal Water POllution
ConProl Administration has been subm~tted to
the ~ommissioner, Bure~u of Reclamation, for
his .recommendation as to its use. Favorable
comm~nts were received from the Colorado ~a~er
