HEC-II hydraulic stream <br />modeling, and professional and administrative services. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The project "Scope of Work" has a task entitled "Storage Use Patterns (to be provided by <br />Sponsor)". During the performance of the Section 905 (b) Reconnaissance Study, it was the <br />report recommendation that the staff of the Board and the water supply experts of the Work <br />Group would perform the "Storage Use Patterns Task". <br /> <br />At the March 1,2000 project review meeting. the Work Group membership discussed the <br />amount work required to perform this task and concluded that a consultant under contract to the <br />State could best perform these this task in a more timely manner. The membership supported a <br />recommendation that a funding request in the amount of$50,000 be made to the Board at it's <br />March 20-21. 2000 Board Meeting. <br /> <br />In addition to the request for the "Storage Use Pattern Task". the Study Contractor requested that <br />the Corps, State and Work Group consider a request for the additional funding for the purchasing <br />of channel and floodplain cross sections for Reach No.1 for the South Platte Channel Project <br />(Littleton Nature Park) electronic Digital Terrain Model (DTM) for the mapped floodplain as <br />provided by the sponsors. The DTM will provide the study contractor the opportunity to model <br />the channel and overbank areas for flow release conditions from the Chatfield Dam to the <br />Colorado-Nebraska State Line. <br /> <br />These tasks are a sponsor responsibility pursuant to the Project's "Scope of Work". There is <br />much interest for the study from the basin flood and water interests, <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDA nON <br /> <br />The staff recommends that the Board recommend to the General Assembly an increase to the HB <br />98-1 189 authorization for the Chatfield Reservoir Reallocation Study through an amendment to <br />HB 00-1419. The language in the amendment will authorize the Board $50,000 for a Storage <br />Use Pattern investigation and $30,000 for additional field surveys and topographic mapping for <br />the South Platte River.
