We have the other alternative which
we have discussed, and that is the
possibility of the Department's receiving
some water from the project under the compact,
to use in filling some of the State constructed
public fishing waters. You may know we have
several waters in mind and we have a very definite
problem of obtaining waters for these projects.
If it were possible to obtain some water through
this San Luis Valley project for supplying
these waters, it would go a long ways toward
mitigating our damages. We request in y,our
resolution, which you are signing in relation
to this project, that you request the Bureau
that we be given the opportunity to make :
further studies of the project with the view it
is. revising the minimum flow-release to possibly
include availability of waterflow for fishing
releases, and developing fishing locations, and
the other possibility of stream improvement
measures in order to make the stream suitable
for carrying 'over the winter the present
fishing population even with the reduced
flows expected.

U. S. Fish and Wil~ife, and he is the
gentleman who prepared the report pertaining
to the game and fisheries involved. If there
are any technical questions, I am certain he
will be happy to answer for you."
