MR. STAPLETON: Are there any questions from the members of the board?

MR. CLAY: I might add that we have an advisory team consisting of about
thirty-five members which is assisting us with the project formulation.
New Mexico is represented on this advisory group as well as Colorado.

MR. COOLEY: The balance between the energy produced and the energy
required for the project again, please.

MR. CLAY: We produce about ninety million kilowatt hours. We need
about a hundred and fifty million, so we are purchasing about sixty
million.

I

COMMENT: I saw there where the city of Durango is asking for twenty-
five thousand acre-feet. Do they think that will be their needs in
the future?

MR. CLAY: Durango is in the process of re-assessing its water require-
ments. Twenty-five thousand is the figure that the advisory team has
been working with. It is under review right now.

Also, the fifty-five thousand acre-feet
tribe is under review and we don't have
Mexico participation in the project has
either as yet.

for the Southern Ute
any final approval.
not been approved by

Indian
The New
New Mexico

The delivery point, and amount of irrigation land and the M&I supplies
for New Mexico have not been resolved. This is what we have been
using in our current plan. There are some unresolved problems with
the current plan. That's why we say it's just a concept at this time.
The amount of land that the Ute Mountain Utes and the Southern Utes
have in the plan has not been approved by either one of the tribes.
They are still subject to refinements and changes.

MR. STAPLETON: If there are no further questions, then, we will go on
to the next item.

MR. COOK: Again, thank you. We will next cover briefly the San Miguel
and Paradox projects. (Following is a summary of the San Miguel and
Paradox projects given by Mr. Cook):

SAN MIGUEL PROJECT

Introduction

I

The project will be located in southwestern Colorado in the Upper Colo-
rado River Basin in Montrose and San Miguel Counties of Colorado. Con-
struction, operation and maintenance of the San Miguel project was
authorized by the Colorado River Basin Project Act of September 30,
1968 (Public Law 90-537). It is a participating project of the Colorado
River Storage Project Act enacted April 11, 1956 (Public Law 84-485).

.,.22-
