The letter requests the <br />support ofthe Colorado delegation and of the subco)lll11ittee leadership for funding for floodplain <br />map modernization. <br /> <br />The previous Congress did not complete legislative action on President Bush's request for funding <br />for map modernization. The letter asks the new Congress to take such action. We have asked the <br />Senators and House members to support the President's original request, made in the spring of 2002. <br />It appears that action on this budget matter may be taken sometime in January, <br /> <br />Forest Service Proposes Forest Management Rule: On Nov. 27 the U.S. Forest Service released a . <br />new proposed land management planning rule. The proposed rule "eliminates most of the procedural <br />requirements and redundancies in the planning process," which could allow plans to be completed in <br />a third ofthe time.
